| In our world filled with perversions and illusions, what is the Truth?
PERHAPS! you know that God’s Word is the scale on which the world, with its ever-increasing perversion of the truth, and a consequent compromise, needs to weigh it's actions. Doubtless, the Word of God is our ONLY Authority today and always has been humanity's incontrovertible truth. Jesus said, “… you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” He urged us, therefore, to “diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me," John 5:39. You will be surprised to see how all of the life’s issues are covered in the Scriptures. So, if you reside in the Bronx, New York, I invite you to our church on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 pm weekly so, together, we can dig deep into the Word of God to discover this Truth. Your life will never be the same after the meeting. We are at 3021-31 Webster Avenue, Bronx, New York. (Opposite the 52nd Police Precinct). You may also wish to call 646-294-7726 for information about our other programs.

|In a sinful world, is the Christian Life Possible?
This sinful world has its values. See Galatians 5: 19-21; so also, the Christian life, its norms. Galatians 5:22. The world glamorizes sin. Often, it extols all its negatives and minimizes life’s positive qualities. Hollywood detects the latest fashion, whether or not such fashions are disingenuous. People want to be like Actor “X” or Actress” Y” because they are “successful”. The Christian in this world is, thus, faced with the struggles to model his life after Christ and be ridiculed, or accept the pattern of the world and risk eternal separation from God. Must he hold on to what is good as allowed by the bible?

|The Crying Blood of Jesus Christ.
Stop and think! The blood of Jesus Christ is ceaselessly and passionately crying out to sinful humanity to reconcile with God. That includes you, and me. Instead of instant judgment for our sins, God is, daily, imploring us to immediately return to Him. He will stop at nothing until we yield our hearts to Him in true repentance. You and I have time only when we are alive to be reconciled with God.

|My Father Is Consistently The Best.
In His flawlessness and glorious purity, He still stoops to ask you and me, in our filthiness to love Him. And when we respond, He avails us with His Spirit who cleans, nourishes, and presents us to Him “God” as beautiful brides. Stop and think! What earthly father loves like that?

|A lesson in kindness: He bandaged those wounds, pouring on oil and wine.
Jesus commended a widow who donated two small coins, while wealthy people gave more. Jesus told his disciples that the seemingly insignificant sacrifices of the poor meant more to Him than the exaggerated donations of the rich.

“We should be kind to all men because it is morally right to do so as humans. Also, it is required that we do acts of kindness in all situations, whether great or small. However, our kindness must “exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees.” This implies that we must take time to be kind.

|Overcoming Fear With Faith
Therefore, faith that will transcend fear is the faith which is centered in God through Jesus Christ. This faith must be based on knowledge of God’s perfect character and should be assured that God possesses in all fullness the attributes of love, knowledge, justice, mercy, unchangeableness, and power that we need, regardless of what we face or come up against. “We live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 . This is the faith that liberates us from our ever-tormenting fears. It grants us boldness and access into the blessings that God has in store for us.

|The King of Creation
Have your faith and principles ever been confronted or challenged? What is threatening your peace? Stop and recall the seeming generosity of Nebuchadnezzar who offered Shadrack, Meshach, and Abed-nego a chance to bow to his statue. They sternly declined. You too, cannot afford to bow to the delicacies of sin no matter the cost. But by faith in The king of Creation, you can call off the bluff of the seducing Satan. You too, need an on-your-face and “stubborn” display of loyalty to God like Shadrack, Meshach, and Abed-nego. The God who spared them from destruction, wants to help you too. |THE SPIRITUAL PROBLEMS OF LOT'S WIFE
We need to remember Lot's wife to be reminded that this life is fleeting. It does not last very long, and can terminate without a warning. As we pass through this world, the greatest thing we must do is to have an abiding relationship with God and live faithfully serving Him daily. The lesson from Lot's wife is this: Take God at His Word! If He says it, then it will come to pass, and men need to be ready to meet Him some day.

|Is Hell Actual?
Dear reader, hell is real. When the roll call is made and your name is not found in the book of life, you will be cast into hell. What a sad day that will be for you? It will be a day of a thousand regrets, and, perhaps, a million more. But it will be too late. The question is: Are you sure for certain that if you were to die today, God forbid, that you will go to heaven? It is appointed for one to die, but, if you die without knowing whether or not you will go to heaven, your portion is sad. You cannot afford to doubt that you are ready for heaven. Your doubt connotes uncertainty. This is the most important life’s decision every one must make. No one, but you can decide your fate. It is urgent. So, you must act now.

|The Biography of Deaconess Hannah Brown
In her lifetime, Deaconess Hannah Brown had built a religious dynasty for herself within which were indomitable leadership, project management excellence, faith development, prayerfulness and purity. Several individuals who were bound by Satan’s chains benefitted from her ministry as they were unshackled in the Prayer Band of A.M.E. Zion church where Deaconess Hannah had served as a leader. The hungry and destitute received helps in her. Because she knew what it was to be a widow, in her charitable works, she spared no effort in assisting all the widows that she perceived needed help and, in addition, instilled this value in her children.

Dear friend, if you want to reach your God-given goal, like Simeon, you must be willing to wholly give up yourself to God. Then God’s Spirit will lead you daily. There might be clouds of difficulties and hardships; perhaps, betrayal too, overspreading your paths, but you must remain resolute on achieving your goal, and be patient; the Spirit of the living God will one day lead you into the temple courts of God’s blessing from whence you will be presented with your reward. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

|If heaven is the dwelling place of a holy God, who on earth will go there?
Dear reader, Stop and think! Is it difficult to look, if one can see? No, but many seeing Israelites died of serpent bites in the wilderness because they refused to simply look at the bronze serpent and live. Similarly, today, God says: “If you confess with your mouth (that), "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved,” but, sadly, many will miss heaven “and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever”6, in hell because they have refused to, simply, confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised him from the dead to be saved.

|How To Humiliate The Goliaths In Our Lives.
David had crowds of triumphant experiences with God – a convincing resource from which he drew his faith to fight this monster of a man. Do you have instances of victory over life’s circumstances; do not go for unfamiliar and weighty armor which may not work for you. Like a child, simply trust in God and use the familiar gifts and talents he has given you. He will work miracles through you, use them today as Davidic faith against the goliath before you. With God, the seeming gigantic problem will crumble in humiliation before you.

|Christ, the true Ark of the Covenant
When Christ, the true Ark of the Covenant, really enters the heart of fallen man, all idols will fall, and every endeavor to set them up again will be vain; sin as well, will be forsaken, and all unrighteous gains dismantled; the Lord will claim and possess that heart. But pride, self-love, and worldly lusts, though dethroned and crucified, still remain within us, like the stump of Dagon. Let us watch and pray that they may not prevail. Let us seek to have them more entirely destroyed. (1Sa 5:6-12)

God tells us not to sin. “But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One”. 1 John 2:1 When we confess our sins, little or huge, Jesus Christ who has forever settled our sins’ issues with God on our behalf is able and willing to forgive us those sins. 1 John 1:9

|Destroying Doubts with the Sword of the Spirit.
Therefore, it is sufficient for us that God’s Word is the regulation sword which we must readily employ to assail Satan. He cannot stand against but must bow to the Word of God. So utilize the word of God against Satan’s doubts and all his tricks. We are bidden to take the Word; and if we, in willfulness resolve to exchange it for another, we commit an act of rebellion, and may make the change at our own risk and peril. Come, then, and let each one of us take the Word of God, and carry it nearer our hearts than ever; for such is the word of command, "Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:17

|Reflecting on the composition of our bodies.
Concerning those who brag about ownership of their bodies, how much did it cost them to bring their bodies into existence? Or when will they unquestionably and personally dispose of their bodies? Certainly, no one can establish ownership of his or her body as we can assuredly say this and more about our ownership of real estate, or other items of material worth. The Scriptures say “for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.” 1 Corinthians 8:6 “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.” Romans 14:8.

|On this Mother's Day
Mothers are special and uniquely favored of God. Their contributions to our world’s progress and peace have not only been distinctive; certainly, they have been overwhelmingly sacrificial. In rearing their children, a great number of them have been particularly merciful, orderly, lovingly tough, humble, elastic, and resilient. Consequently, they have produced great leaders in charge of our lives’ affairs. How chaotic would our world be without the mothers? We sincerely appreciate all the mothers today, and always for many uncountable sacrifices they have made and still are making to make this world a better place.

|Unshackling the Secret of Marriage
God offered Adam a companion he could not reject, one who was both naturally and divinely a part of him; he gave him a partner in whom he was supremely satisfied. God presented “him with Eve, whom he made from him-Adam.” So Adam loved Eve because she was flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone. He loved her because he loved himself. The two were one flesh.

|Because he lives...
My friend, Jesus Christ represents life in its fullness. His life is the light of the world. Is he your life? Stop and think of the desperation, the despondency, the sadness and the gloom that his followers had all through his trial till the Friday after his crucifixion when his tomb was sealed. Their hopes and aspirations were seemingly sealed. But death could not shut him in the tomb. He triumphed over and brought death under his feet.

|A Fulfilled Existence
My friend, what positive impact can you freely make on someone’s life today, such impact that can cost you something dear and precious? Our spiritual freedom and heavenly citizenship cost Jesus Christ his saintly life on the cross. During this resurrection season when we are reflecting on Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, can you in appreciative service say with Isaac Watt: “Love so amazing so divine, demands my soul, my life and my all”, and sow into someone’s life?

|The Offense of the Cross
Today, as in Paul’s day, the preaching of the cross is still an offense to many. The cross is a place of crucifixion- dying. At the cross the world and all its alluring and sinful delicacies were crucified. “Everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does”4 – which are opposed to God, should remain crucified at the cross, and forbidden in your life. Such preaching will not attract large following because it is an offense to the sinful man, who is innately proud, selfish and arrogant and seeks to remain so.

|Sin is not a private matter.
God would have us to be our brothers’ keepers. So, we must strive daily, by his grace, to obey him. However, doing this habitually is not easy without the help of God himself. We must be aware that we live for God; we must know also that we are, eventually, accountable to God for all our actions. This kind of attitude springs from having the fear of God, for which we should crave and ask.

|Rejoicing in the strength of the God who never sleeps nor slumbers.
My dear friend, if you have a responsibility from God, your knowledge of his power should swallow up all discouragements and intimidating fears in you. God is behind and ahead of you. Who or what could possibly prevail against you with the God of heaven as your Help? God, the all-powerful, who spoke this world into existence, is your strength.

|The Goodness of Wisdom
Let’s face it. Any one who has wisdom, which is the fear of God will not murder, or steal or do any evil act of inhumanity. Where is the fear of God in prejudice, racism, or hatred? Where is the fear of God in a husband who, in adultery, cheats against his wife and vice versa? Stop and think! Where is the fear of God in an employer who “plays god” and, on impulse, terminates the employment of his employee? Is there the fear of God in the following acts:: sexual immorality, impurity and (wickedness); idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy; drunkenness, and orgies (?)” 3. Clearly, they are condemned by God.

|Dying to Live
Can you embrace the will of God in the face of a blazing fire into which you might be committed if you do not do the will of man? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. They emptied themselves of all earthly privileges and accepted to be tied and thrown into a blazing furnace instead of doing the will of a Babylonian idol-worshipping king. They trusted God above the fury of the blazing furnace and beyond the rage of a selfish king. When they came face-to-face with death, they entrusted their lives to God. Their story is an interesting testimony of determined people who knew their God and remained true to him regardless of the consequences. It is a lesson worthy of imitation that to accept the will of God we must wholly and fully die to self and the flesh and totally "put on the Lord Jesus Christ."

|Praying or talking to God with knowledge.
Knowing God empowers you to present your requests to him and creates in you the confidence that the petitions are answered. It is this knowledge which will restrain you from disobeying his words, and enables you to resolutely trust in him even when things are contrary. When you know God, you will be persuaded of his sovereignty and control of the universe, you will be assured that God is well able to steer the affairs of your life aright

|How you can cause your faith to triumph over your fears.
With boldness, run to God in prayer and faithfully state your case to him. He is your father and he knows how to solve the problem, no matter how little or huge. He is a mighty Fortress for his children, as King David had said: “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” With faith in God, you can and will triumph over your fears and witness the victory of the LORD in your life this year and always.

|The triumph of Faith
When you are faced with a difficult situation, do you allow impatience to drive you to make an irrational decision and thus, most often, disobey God? If you know what God wants, do you follow his plans regardless of the consequences? Certainly, God often uses delay to test our patience and obedience. This Sunday, January 25, 2009, we will find answers to these questions from the bible. You will hear how your faith, no matter how small, can triumph over fear and give you the much needed breakthrough this year and always.

|The Peril of Indecision
The pleasure of this world might be satisfying to you, but "its joys are but a name" and too seasonal. The risks of eternal destruction and separation from God are far too great to toy with. If you are not living right with God, you must surrender to God and be total and complete in your commitment. Stop and think! God in turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes and condemning them with an overthrow has made “them an ensample to those that after should live ungodly.”

|The City I love
Jesus is returning to remove us to a place which, for well above two thousand years now, he has been preparing for us his friends. If you have ever seen or heard of a city or place of beauty in this world, none compares with where you soon will be with Jesus Christ.

|The Bold Move
...this New Year, I invite you to prayerfully make a bold move by setting your goal (s). As much as God leads you, reasonably invest your time and other resources in the venture. Then, obediently confess your success in the venture, regardless of any contrary situation. God who is your strength and partner is faithful. He will grant you the desires of your heart.

|Come, Let Us Adore Him
To adore Him means to “love, worship, esteem, respect, admire, stuck on to, be passionate about, be mad about” Him. He is the best and the most faithful companion ever. A friend who is available now and always will be for us.

|In Due Time
The birth of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, was disappointingly, not crafted after the will of man. God personally designed it within His purpose to model to humanity a practical message of humility and to condemn ostentation in all its appearances so the “haves” and the “have-nots” could relate with Him. Thus, all unbridled spray of wealth to celebrate His birth is a disfavor to Him.

|Trusting God in hard times.
Unlike men who make promises and change with changes in future circumstances, no future condition can limit or change God’s plans because His promises have the guaranty of His limitless knowledge, infinite wisdom, almighty power, inexhaustible resources, solid integrity and endless possibilities. He knows all things and controls all things. All things exist for and in Him and evolve around His will. “For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.” Colossians 1:16

|The season of Giving
Giving does not entail an outlay of funds only, to meet a need. You can sow your time in charitable deeds of different shapes and forms. Look around in your neighborhood, there abound opportunities for you to invest in people. In this way, you will be giving to God and appreciating all His goodness and blessings in your life.

|The ever thankful heart
The heart that will be thankful to God in distress, sadness and sorrows is the heart that puts its trust implicitly on God. Only the heart in which God occupies its softest spot, a heart totally surrendered to God, one transformed from the world with its glittering lures, a heart which acknowledges that God has an over-riding authority over the affairs of this world and can meet any need; only such heart can rejoice and praise God in negative circumstances. Such is a praying heart that is completely saturated with God’s Word on which it meditates day and night.

|While we await the return of Jesus Christ
It is advantageous therefore, that while awaiting the return of Jesus Christ, you should watch against carelessness to pray. The bible says that you should pray without ceasing. Prayer draws you closer to God and allows you to depend on Him for direction as you draw the strength you need daily from His inexhaustible power house.

|Goals setting: A must for success
There is a saying that one who fails to plan, plans to fail. This is true because we live in a world that is full of cares, competing needs and aspirations. A goal-oriented life is more likely to lead to accomplishment than a life that leaves success to chance.

|Resting on the Word of God in an ever-changing world
No contradictory or abnormal situation in this life is a march to the rest and comfort in God’s word. Therefore, come with me to God’s word and see the secret of peace and evidences of encouragement from which you can draw your support. The Word will cause you to lie “down in green pastures” and continuously leads you “beside the still waters”. God’s endless love abounds in the face of conflicting and raging circumstances.

|Have You Any Room For Jesus Christ?
The good new is: Jesus Christ died for our sins past, present and future. He accepted God’s just punishment for our transgressions. Thus, God credited righteousness in our account with Him, and covered our sins with the blood of His son. You simply must claim your forgiveness. “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.” Psalms 32:1

|Taking stock of our spiritual lives
Now is time to take stock of our relationship with God and mend our ways. “…today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts….” Hebrews 3:15. We soon will stand face to face with God and give account of ourselves to Him. Thus, it is all important that you and I know for certain today that we are right with Him. We are cautioned against obstinacy. “I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” Luke 12:5

|Making a decision within the will of God.
There is a litmus test in the bible for every decision we must make – a biblical scale on which we must weigh our plans before we act on them: “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

|Living above our daily hurdles.
Do not succumb to the thought that you are a failure, or that you are tempted because you are a sinner, but clearly, understand that you are the apple of God’s eyes “who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able”. Therefore, abandon your will, your life and “ALL” on God’s power

|Strength in trial.
We are not left in doubts as to where the motivation will come to propel our resolve to be happy in the throes of pain. I call this motivation the goal before me in trial. Obviously, it is humanly hard to “count it all joy” when trials strike with all its associated suffering and hardships, but the secret is to realize that we are wholly and purely God’s and He loves us. He will not without a cause permit evil to befall us. Thus, we must completely abandon our situations on God and confidently trust Him to steer the course of the trials until they pass by.

|The power of biblical (positive) confession
We must not confess lack, as the Heavenly Father has given us everything we need. We must not confess defeat, as God has made us more than conquerors. We must not confess doubt, as God has given us His faith. We are to speak the things that the Word of God declares as truth. We easily quote what men have to say on a subject, and many times we believe them despite what the Word of God has to say about it. Yet we are often hesitant to quote what God says because the devil tells us we would be lying. He causes us to look at our circumstances rather than the Word. Circumstances are subject to change, and one of the things that can cause them to do so is the confession of God's Word over a particular situation. In fact, the Word of God tells us to confess or talk about the things we are believing God to do in our lives and He will bring it to pass

|The power of prayer
When you know Him, you will be closer drawn to Him and can talk to Him at anytime in prayer about anything. And “He will perfect all that concern you”. That is the power of prayer. The confidence that God is your father and you are His child, is so powerful and reassuring that you can afford not to pray now to Him about whatever situation you need His help. God, for whom all things are; in whom all things consist and depend; one who owns the world in all its fullness is your father, and He sincerely loves you.

|The Power of Praise
Praise will extinguish the fire of fear, and flood you with comfort and victory. When you and I begin to take stock of our daily triumphs and favors, then, God will become the object of our unceasing love and worship; and the center of our unbroken praise. Then would we know how to devote our hearts and souls to Him in worship, and praise Him with a positive attitude, even when things are seemingly bad.

|THE HEALING IN FORGIVENESS
There is healing in forgiveness. But from the view of our weak humanity, it is certainly difficult to forgive those who have wronged us with just a flip of the finger. Nevertheless, if we, for a moment stop to compare our situations with and reflect on the ill-treatments, pain and heartache that the biblical Joseph received from his brothers, such trouble as Joseph had makes any suffering pale by comparison. Joseph’s standard and example in forgiveness shames us all when we hold on to hurts.

|If you miss heaven, it is your fault!!!
Often, the sad and bad news is: when our health fails us and we look back; for some, we see that we have only achieved very little and for others; nothing. Regardless, we now have to live in self-pity, and be sorry that all our efforts, attributable to labor, have been futile and empty altogether. We were too busy to love ourselves, too busy to rest, and too busy to engage in exercise, among other things that our bodies so unavoidably needed to remain healthy. Finally, we now must deal with the misery and the problems that we have brought on ourselves.

|Reflecting on death and resurrection on Easter
Jesus died willingly for our sins. He boasted of His might and authority, and proved that He alone had the power to give up His life, and the power to take it back. “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again

|STOP and Think
The gift of salvation in Jesus Christ, which God has freely offered to our sin-sick humanity, is sadly being spurned every day. Mankind is unable to come to terms with its freeness, when in our capitalistic world “nothing goes for nothing”. Dear reader, God says he has personally secured our salvation in his son - Jesus Christ. Thus, it is free and priceless. Anyone - rich or poor – can have it. Dear friend, you need to ask and believe God’s word for your salvation today. You know not what tomorrow might bring.________________________________________

|The triumph of humility [Site News]
Misrepresentation of our true selves by other people is rampant and will never cease because people who judge others are very limited in knowledge of the people they judge. No one should judge another. We often have notions of others that are not really true. Faced with this, we need to pray that God will help our accusers. And we should forgive them too, for minimizing our virtues. We are special people for whom King Jesus died. He loves and knows us better. Thus, we should have better estimation of ourselves based on what God says and not on man's limited understanding from which he often shoots out his bullets of condemnations.
