STOP AND THINK
The Scripture declares in Psalms 32: 1-2 that one whose sins are forgiven, and one against whom God does not count sins is blessed. But what type of person is that against whom God does not count sin?
My friends stop and think! We know that there is no sinless or righteous person except God Himself. However, we are told that God has set some apart, and they are blessed because He does not count sins against them - past, present and future.
Let us consider Abraham, for illustration of how this works. We know that he was not altogether righteous prior to being called the father of faith. In the matter of lies - whether they were deliberate or not; on two occasions, we saw his failings. Nevertheless, God credited him with righteousness when he believed God's words, against what he knew or felt relative to what God had told him. Read Romans 4: 17-25 ("As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."
Therefore, God will impute us with righteousness and will not hold our sins against us ever, just as in the case of Abraham, if we can believe and trust in God’s words concerning our relationship with Him. But my friends, you must first crave that relationship.
Must we then live in sin? We have no excuse to sin with impunity? Every sin is punishable. If we love God, we will seek to refrain from acts – sin that always will grief Him and steer us away from fellowship with Him.
If you are not or do not know how to be among the number of those against whom God does not count their sins, read Romans 10 : 9-11 (“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed”).
That is all it takes my friends, to be forgiven of your sins and be included in the number against whom God does not count their sins. For more spiritual, help visit or call us. 718-805-5285. Remain blessed.
