HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE?

Posted on Sat, Aug 16, 2008

The bible has warned us to gird our loins and brace up for perilous time. Are we in it already?

The bible has warned us to gird our loins and brace up for “perilous time”. Are we in it already?  Perilous time-we are given several of its indicators and characteristics in II Timothy 3:1. The conditions of our present world vividly portray the conditions described in the scripture under reference. JESUS IS COMING BACK SOON! But are you ready to meet Him?

Again, dear reader, are you ready to meet JESU CHRIST? May be you “have the form of godliness” 2 Timothy 3:5  but may not be living the Christian life. Now is time to cry to God for mercy and ask Him to restore you if you are not right with Him. Perhaps, you have not yet confessed Jesus Christ as LORD and believe you will do it another time. Now is the time to hand your life over to Jesus and ask Him to lead you. You are not guaranteed tomorrow.

You may ask: Can God who loves me so dearly send me to hell for eternity? Yes, He will, if you neglect His offer of free salvation in JESUS CHRIST. Hebrews 2:3 . It is easy to receive this free salvation.  First, accept that you are a sinner- you know you are. Second, confess your sins and believe in God to forgive you for Christ’s sake. His son - Jesus Christ - took all your sins on Himself to the cross and nailed them there. Thus, He fulfilled God’s punishment for you, the punishment for your sins - past, present and future. You can be saved today if you are willing. Jesus Christ died for humanity’s sins including yours.

No one will and can escape the wrath of God if such a great salvation is neglected. So, sincerely confess your sins today, and thank Him for forgiving you. The bible says “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9  . Jesus came to the world to die for you that you might be saved from the wrath of God. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:17 . Dear friend, begin to read the bible today and believe every word in it. They are yours. Start by reading the gospel of John.

But if you allow the deceitfulness of materialism and the sinful pleasures of this world to blur your view of the available mercies of God, you will live to regret it for ever. THINK OF IT! “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26
