Volunteers Are Needed

If you or someone you know would like to give back to the community either in cash or kind this summer, this is how:

Christ Disciples International Ministries, Inc is planning to intensify its yearly community wellness campaigns and reach out to three thousand residents of the South Bronx in New York City. Thirty – fifty young people ages 14 through 21 years supplied by New York City Department of Youth and Community Development will join our team. You too, can join.

Participants will do assortment of community service activities: engage in live cooking and distribution of both cooked and packaged meals to the needy. They will be trained to identify and remove household items which trigger asthma attack and led to share their knowledge with the community. They will partake in other community outreach activities and will be supervised to design and implement age-appropriate activities for members of our Bronx community, especially, seniors and show how obesity which exacerbates asthma and other health problems can be prevented.

About our organization

Christ Disciples International Ministries Inc., (CDIM) is a 501 (C) (3) faith-based organization. Our mission is to provide supportive services to the underserved, particularly, needy families so as to empower them both spiritually and physically to live their dreams and engage in helpful activities to themselves and the society. We are located at 1211 Brook Avenue, Bronx, New York, within the 16th Congressional District of New York, the neediest district in the nation

CDIM has an independent religious and social service components. The religious component operates through an interdenominational church which is headed by an ordained pastor. It runs three weekly services: Sunday Worship, Wednesday Bible Studies and Intercessory Prayer Meetings on Friday. The social service component is run as an independent program of CDIM for the community. Membership of the church is not required to benefit from the program’s activities, which are overseen by diverse and professional board members. More than 90% of the board members and 95% of the program’s staff members are not affiliated with Christ Disciples International Ministries Inc but all share in our vision.

Included in our social programs are: Food Services, Community Development, Youth and Community Health and Wellness Project, Immigrant and Citizenship Services, School Dropout and Truancy Prevention, Computer Literacy including After-school tutorial and recreation for up to middle school participants; Elder Abuse/Crime Prevention Outreach, Seniors Visiting Programs, and Inter-generational Program. We offer well above 18000 units of free program services monthly to the community.
